(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 25, 2019 ) Maria Menounos, American actress, journalist, and television host opened her Encino, California home on December 8, 2018 to raise awareness and funds for Westside German Shepherd Rescue (WGSR).
Its a cause that is special to Menounos, who adopted her newest dog, Maximus, from WGSR. Menounos was quoted as saying, My Maximus was rescued from there and I cant do enough to thank them back for all they do for dogs like my boy. Hes my everything. Helped me recover from surgery and feel safe again!

WGSR has re-homed more than 13,000 dogs. They have also been helping with the wildfire rescue efforts in California that have left so many dogs hurt and abandoned. This event was for them too. It was really special. We had record ticket sales, Menounos told PEOPLE, who estimates the celebrity event made upwards of $30,000 for the rescue.
Step and Repeat LA printed an 8′ x 8′ non-glare fabric step and repeat backdrop for this winter wonderland fundraiser. All party services were donated allowing Westside German Shepherd Rescue to fully benefit from the fundraiser.
