The Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) Education Fund & Foundations 19th Annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon was held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the Microsoft Reserve in Playa Vista. GLAAACC awarded twelve Class of 2018 high school graduates from Crenshaw, Jordan, George Washington Preparatory, and Susan Miller Dorsey high schools with college scholarships totaling $41,500. The awards luncheon featured remarks by Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley Thomas.

Awards Luncheon is one of the Foundations signature events. Over the years, the Foundation has featured prominent keynote speakers such as basketball legend & six-time NBA MVP Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, former Los Angeles City Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and LAUSD Superintendent Dr. John E. Deasy.
