(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 06, 2020 ) The 2019 Screamfest Horror Film Festival was held at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres in eclectic Hollywood, California. In addition to showcasing the best of horror films from around the world, it offered audiences 10 days of horror films in an extraordinary festival experience.
Screamfest is the largest and longest running horror film festival in the United States. ‘Paranormal Activity’ premiered at the festival in 2007. Since then, some of the largest horror online publications have called it the “Sundance of Horror”.

premieres and showcases new work from American and international independent horror filmmakers. Films that premiered at this years festival included Evil Dead, She Never Died, and City of Ashes. Some of the screenings included Q and A sessions with the directors, writers, and actors.
In addition to the annual 10-day festival in October, Screamfest hosts monthly screenings and events to keep the horror community engaged. Screamfest is a female-run organization dedicated to promoting talented filmmakers and writers in the genre.
Screamfest was founded by Rachel Belofsky and Ross Martin in 2001. In 2015 Screamfest celebrated its fifteenth anniversary and has been credited as being the largest and longest running horror film festival in the country.
