(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 24, 2019 ) Hosted by Leiti Hsu of Word of Mouth, the 2nd Global Cuisine Awards (GCA) were held December 6th, 2018 at Vibiana, in historic Downtown Los Angeles. In the late 2000s, this former cathedral was transformed into a stunning, full-service event facility.
Chefs, restaurateurs, press, and industry insiders gathered together to celebrate the best of the Los Angeles dining scene. In his opening remarks, GCA Committee Chairman Neal Fraser shared his excitement surrounding this event that provided an opportunity to connect and celebrate culinary excellence. Guests at the awards show enjoyed a special three-course menu, crafted by Chef Fraser, who is also the owner of Vibiana.
A GCA Committee of 12 members worked to narrow the nominated restaurants list from 7 to 5 in each category.
Sixteen establishments were selected including: Best Chinese Restaurant: Chengdu Taste, Best Seafood Restaurant: Fishing with Dynamite, Best French Restaurant: Mlisse, Best Italian Restaurant: Sotto, Best Steakhouse: BOA Steakhouse, Best Korean Restaurant: Genwa Korean BBQ, Best New American Restaurant: Animal, Restaurant of the Year: Broken Spanish, and Outstanding Culinary Tradition: Musso & Frank Grill.
Step and Repeat LA printed a vibrant 8 x 10 backdrop for this prestigious culinary event. They also provided rentals of a red carpet as well as lighting for the awards ceremony.
