The North American tour of the musical comedy “Spamilton: An American Parody” celebrated its official opening at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio on December 27, where it played through January 6.
TROIKA Entertainment, producer of the comedy, has been an innovator in touring musical theater productions for over two decades, producing shows throughout North America and the world.
“Spamilton”was written and directed by Gerard Alessandrini. In addition, the creative team includes Gerry McIntyre (choreography),
Dustin Cross (costume design), Richard Danley and Fred Barton (musical arrangements), and Michael Cassara (casting director).
The cast features Chuckie Benson, Ani Djirdjirian, Marissa Hecker, Brandon Kinley, Adrian Lopez, Dominic Pecikonis, Datus Puryear, and musical director Curtis Reynolds at the piano.
The New York Post hailed “Spamilton: An American Parody” as the next best thing to seeing Hamilton! and the Hollywood Reporter proclaimed Spamilton” is so infectiously fun that it could easily run as long as its inspiration!
After a successful engagement in New York, and the national tour launch in Cleveland, it is now playing ten multi-week engagements in its first season.
First-year tour stops for “Spamilton: An American Parody” include the Smith Center in Las Vegas (January 22-February 10), Huntington Theatre Company in Boston (February 12 to April 7), and the Straz Center in Tampa (April 9-May 12). More stops are to be announced later.
